Tabitha Founder Visits Singapore

This week Tabitha Singapore had the pleasure of welcoming Janne Ritskes, the founder and driving force behind Tabitha and her always cheerful daughter Miriam.

Janne was in town in support of the bi-annual Tabitha Silkfair held at The Shophouse and to speak to her many supporters in Singapore.

The Fair is held to enable Tabitha to raise funds by selling silk products produced as part of the Cottage Industry Program, with over 95% of the proceeds going directly to Cambodia.

The Fair is now in its 6th year and it was encouraging to see that even in these difficult times sales showed no sign of declining.

Fund raising in overdrive!

It's been a while since our last update but our fund raising is definitely picking up steam, closely tracking the performance of the stock market since March 9.

Since the last couple weeks, Anvay an his friends from Gemalto have raised over USD 2,100, with a very generous donation from their company. Together with the donations continuing to come in through our blog and friends we are now at close to USD 6,000, not far away from our goal.

At the same time, we are still looking for fellow housebuilders to accompany us on the trip. With several people not being able to commit, we had to scale down the size of the group from 16 down to 12, so if you know anyone who would like to come along, please let us know - it is not too late.
